University of Birmingham

The Highways Group at the University of Birmingham is an integral part of Civil Engineering within the School of Engineering, and is home to the postgraduate courses and studies in highway engineering and management that have helped establish the University as a leading world centre in highways-related expertise.

The Highways Group assists the technical secretariat of HDMGlobal, the concessionaire for the de facto world standard economic model HDM-4. It is also jointly with W.S.Atkins and Scott Wilson responsible for the annual "Senior Roads Executive" continual professional development courses arranged in conjunction with the world's major aid agencies.
