Privacy Statement
The TI-UP Resource Centre and its affiliated companies (collectively referred to in this Privacy Statement as "we" or "TI-UP") recognise the importance of protecting the privacy of all information provided by users of our web sites, recipients of our e-mail newsletters and all other users of our services. We created this policy with a fundamental respect for our users' right to privacy and to guide our relationships with our users. This Privacy Statement discloses the privacy practices for all services offered by TI-UP.
Information Collection and Use
TI-UP collects information from our website users, subscribers and other users. In this section of our Privacy Statement, we describe the type of information we collect and how we use it to provide better services to our users.
Registration
In order to use the extranet section of our website and sign up for e-bulletins, users must first register. During registration, users are required to give their contact information. We also may collect demographic information (such as job title or company information). For internal purposes, we use this information to communicate with users and provide requested services, and, for our website visitors, to provide a more personalized experience on our sites.
The TI-UP Helpdesk Core Service is free for certain extranet users (DFID Infrastructure Advisers, DFID Staff and DFID Partners). We may need to certify the eligibility of these subscribers. In order to do that, we may disclose registration information to DFID for verification purposes.
E-Bulletins
If users wish to subscribe to our e-bulletins, we ask for contact information (such as name and e-mail address). We use this information in the same manner as we use contact information in the registration process described above. Recipients of our e-bulletins can unsubscribe at any time.
Discussion Forum
As part of the TI-UP Resource Centre we offer a discussion forum for registered users. Note that all personal information sent or posted via the discussion forum becomes public information for which we are not responsible.
Communications with TI-UP
We have features where our users can submit information to us (such as our feedback forms). Where such submissions include requests for service, support or information, we may forward them to our Consortium partners, as needed, to best respond to the specific request. In addition, we may retain e-mails and other information sent to us for our internal administrative purposes, and to help us to serve users better. Please note that Frequently Asked Questions and similar submissions may be made public.
Communications from Us
In order to best serve our users, we may send updates that contain important information about our products and services. For example, we send new members a welcoming message, and verify password and username for our password-protected web sites. We may also communicate with a user to provide requested services and for account-related issues via e-mail, phone or regular mail.
Correcting/Updating Personal Information
If your personally identifiable information changes (such as contact address), you can correct or update your profile by using the "Manage My Profile" form on the extranet. You may also contact TI-UP through the "Contact Details" section of the website.
Security
We use reasonable precautions to protect our users' personal information and to store it securely. Access to users' information is restricted, and the servers on which we store information are kept in a secure environment.
Links
Our web sites contain links to other sites. TI-UP is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each web site to which we may link that may collect personally identifiable information.
Children
TI-UP websites are not directed at individuals under thirteen years of age, and TI-UP does not intend to collect any personally-identifiable information from such individuals.
